Self-hosted vs. Xerolite CE (Cloud Edition) User Experience

  • Self-hosted Xerolite is a downloadable application. You install Interactive Broker TWS and Xerolite on your own VPS, perform weekly 2FA logins, and manage everything manually.
  • Xerolite CE (Cloud Edition) is hosted on our infrastructure. Interactive Broker TWS runs in the background. Users still need to perform 2FA weekly, but they can access the platform through a web-based dashboard, making it significantly easier to manage without needing remote access.

Xerolite CE – Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Does Xerolite CE limit the number of trades or strategies I can run?
    No. Xerolite CE does not impose any restrictions on trades per day, strategies per account, or trade volume. If your strategy sends the signal, Xerolite will route it. Your only limits come from your broker’s account rules (capital/margin) or your server resources.
  2. Is Xerolite CE suitable for high-frequency trading (HFT)?
    Xerolite CE comfortably supports high volumes such as 100–200 trades per day. Ultra high-frequency scenarios (hundreds of trades per minute/second) would require a custom-optimized setup, please take to us if needed.
  3. Do I need to keep IBKR TWS open on my computer?
    Our Xerolite CE (cloud edition) still requires you to log in and keep TWS (or IB Gateway) running. However, the key advantage is that everything is hosted in the cloud, meaning you no longer need to run TWS on your local machine or worry about managing your own server. We provide a secure web interface that allows you to log in directly from your browser. This makes the process much more convenient, simplifies handling of 2FA, and removes the need to share or expose your credentials. Please refer to our demo video for more details.
  4. Which brokers and exchanges does Xerolite CE support?
    Xerolite CE already includes ready-made bridges for Interactive Brokers (IBKR). In general, we can integrate with any broker or platform that provides an API. If you have a specific broker in mind, we can explore the integration feasibility and add it to your environment.
  5. Is Xerolite CE only for TradingView signals?
    TradingView is the most common signal source our clients use, but Xerolite CEis not limited to it. We can integrate other signal sources, strategy engines, or even custom-built trading models if required.
